GGBoA Virtual Show Rules
Show Dates, Classes, and Fees
The GGBoA Virtual Show will accept submissions from October 15 through November 15, and the show will be decided by November 27.
The classes are:
Senior Doe
Junior Doe
Senior Buck
Junior Buck
Best Horns
Best in Show
Entry fees are $10 per goat for up to 5 goats, and $8 per goat for each additional goat. Each entry fee per goat will cover all eligible classes.
Awards and Titles
Certificates will be awarded to the top place in each of the six categories.
The GGBoA Virtual Show allows exhibitors to earn the following titles for their Guernseys:
VCH = Awarded when a goat wins a Grand Champion award in a GGBoA virtual show three different times under at least two different judges.
VGCH = Awarded when a goat wins a Grand Champion award in a GGBoA virtual show three different times under at least two different judges and earns a production award.
Eligibility
To participate in a GGBoA virtual show and earn legs, you must be a current GGBoA member.
To earn a Virtual Championship title (VCH), a goat must earn three VCH leg awards in a minimum of two GGBoA Virtual Shows under at least two different judges. One leg may be restricted; the others must be unrestricted. Senior Does and Senior Bucks that win Best in Show are awarded a leg, in addition to any leg earned in the Grand Champion lineup, if the minimum requirements are met. Each ring is its own show.
Leg Requirements by Class
Senior Does
Senior Does awarded Grand Champion in the Senior Division are entitled to an unrestricted leg if there are a minimum of 8 does, including at least five (5) does in milk.
Senior Does awarded Grand Champion in a combined show are entitled to an unrestricted leg if there are a minimum of 8 does, including at least five (5) does in milk.
Senior Does awarded Best in Show are entitled to an unrestricted leg if there are two (2) or more sanctions meeting the requirements listed in (a) or (b) competing in the Best in Show lineup.
Junior Does
Junior Does awarded Grand Champion in the Junior Division are entitled to a restricted leg if there are a minimum of 8 does exhibited.
Junior Does awarded Grand Champion in a combined show are entitled to a restricted leg if there are a minimum of 8 does entered, with a minimum of 5 senior does in milk.
Junior Does awarded Best in Show, when two (2) or more sanctions meeting the requirements listed in (a) or (b) are exhibited in the Best in Show lineup, are awarded a restricted leg if one was not already earned when awarded Grand Champion.
Senior Bucks
Senior Bucks awarded Grand Champion in the Senior Division are entitled to an unrestricted leg if there are a minimum of 8 bucks exhibited.
Senior Bucks awarded Grand Champion in a combined show are entitled to an unrestricted leg if there are a minimum of 8 bucks entered, with 3 bucks being 12 months or older.
Senior Bucks awarded Best in Show are entitled to an unrestricted leg if there are two (2) or more sanctions meeting the requirements listed in (a) or (b) competing in the Best in Show lineup.
Junior Bucks
Junior Bucks awarded Grand Champion in the Junior Division are entitled to a restricted leg if there are a minimum of 8 goats exhibited.
Junior Bucks awarded Grand Champion in a combined show are entitled to an unrestricted leg if there are a minimum of 8 bucks entered, with 3 bucks being 12 months or older.
Junior Bucks awarded Best in Show are entitled to a restricted leg if there are two (2) or more sanctions meeting the requirements listed in (a) or (b) competing in the Best in Show lineup.
Entry Rules
By entering the show, the entrant agrees to abide by the listed guidelines and understands that GGBoA rules govern before, during, and after the show.
Incomplete entries will not be accepted.
All photos and payment are required at the time of submission.
All photos must be resized to a maximum of 1MB.
Photo files must be in JPG or PNG format.
Photos that have been edited to improve the appearance of the goat will not be accepted.
Photos must be taken on solid, flat surfaces. Entries with goats standing in grass or deep straw/bedding will not be entered in the show.
Once submitted, all entries are final and may not be swapped, replaced, or pulled at any time unless requested by the V-Show Coordinator or GGBoA.
If incorrect photos are submitted, members will have 72 hours after being contacted by the V-Show Coordinator to provide acceptable photos; otherwise, the goat will be scratched from the show.
All animals must be registered with either ADGA or BGS (or both), and be at least American/HB1 in pedigree level and a digital copy of the pedigree(s) must be submitted with the entry fees and photos.
Under no circumstances will refunds be given for incorrect submissions/entries or in the event a goat must be pulled from the show.
If entering the goat as an agent, both the owner of the goat and the agent must be current GGBoA members. The owner must approve the entry and must notify the V-Show Coordinator that an agent is allowed to show the goat.
The V-Show Coordinator may not provide advice on which photos are most flattering for your animal. The owner or agent must use their own judgment when entering.
Judges will provide written reasons for the top ten animals in each class. Written reasons beyond the first ten animals are at the judge’s discretion. Every animal will be placed.
All entry photos must have been taken during the year in which the application is made. Photos of the winners will be retained for the club archives. By submitting photos, exhibitors authorize GGBoA to use them on the club website and in the newsletter.
